Greetings FBC!
As we look forward to resuming in person worship this Sunday, we wanted to let you know what church services will look like going forward.
Please know the ability to meet uninterrupted in person requires your cooperation. With that being said:
Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged through the end of the year.
Current data shows that masks help reduce the spread of Covid-19 to those around us, and helps limit the severity of illness for the wearer. For this reason, we are asking you to please wear your mask and try to social distance while within the church sanctuary. If you forget your mask, we will have masks available at the entrances of the church.
There is also hand sanitizer around the church. Please use it after your have contact with anyone.
We also ask you remember that sometimes people want to socially distance, but do not want to be rude. Be aware of people and read their signals, or better yet, ask them what their comfort level is. We never want to make someone uncomfortable through hugs, handshakes, or other contact.
If you feel sick or have felt sick for the 24 hours before church, please stay home! We do not want to spread any illness around in our congregation. In our congregation, we share many things. We do not want sickness to be one of them.
Next, if you test positive for Covid-19 within 48 hours after attending church, please inform Brother Troy or the church office.
We ask that you let us know for two reasons:
1) We can pray for you and help you in any way we can.
2) We can notify others who may have been in close contact.
Be assured during each of these steps, your privacy will be protected. Your name will not be mentioned unless you give express permission to do so.
To those who have had close contact, this is where we also need your help. If you have been told you were in close contact with a positive case somewhere outside the church, please voluntarily stay home for 2 weeks. This does not mean I think I might have been around somebody who could have had it. What we are asking is if you have been told you were in direct close contact with someone who is lab confirmed positive for Covid-19, please stay home.
If someone from the church contacts you to inform you you were in close contact with a positive case in our church, please stay home for 2 weeks.
Because we are a church setting, we have two definitions of close contact:
1) Regular environments with normal voice volume – within 6 feet of a positive case for 15 minutes or more while either party is unmasked
2) Singing/Loud talking environment – within 13 Feet of a positive case for 15 minutes or more while either party is unmasked
As always, if you do not feel comfortable being at in person services, we will live stream the service to both Facebook and the church website.
We know for many that these policies may seem reactionary or overkill. We are sorry if you feel that way, but these are the minimum steps we feel we must take to keep people safe while still being able to meet for in person worship. These policies took into consideration the widely varying opinions and thoughts of everyone in our church body, as well as, the knowledge and guidance of medical professionals.
We have set these policies and ask for your help so we can keep meeting in person uninterrupted. Doing these things also means we help to keep the school open, first responders healthy, and students able to compete in athletic, academic, and other extra curricular activities. With your help we can accomplish all of these things.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
FBC Church Staff
